Raiders Rushing Tendencies: Preseason Game #1

BewsafRaiders3d

In 2010 the Oakland Raiders were ranked 3rd in the NFL in number of attempts when running directly at the center of their formation.

It is no surprise the Raiders like to run.  In fact, 2010 was a year that Oakland ranked no lower than 4th in the NFL in production when running to the right of the formation.  Want to run at the guard in 2010…ranked 4th in the NFL.  Toward the tackle…ranked 4th in the NFL.  Around the right end…ranked 2nd in the NFL.

What about 2011?  Let’s take a look at those numbers.

Preseason numbers don’t say a whole lot.  But what they can tell us is what the coaching staff may be looking at so they can do some evaluation or what the Raiders think their basic strengths are.  You be the judge.

Raiders Tendencies Observations:

  • Not many observations can be gleaned from the first preseason game.
  • The Raiders like to run.  That’s no surprise.  We will track the tendencies they have and the directions they like to run.  The big question is….can they pass consistently and effectively.
